More reasons to live in Santiago de Puriscal

You know by now how much I like to eat and how important good Restaurants are. There is a small Chinese Restaurant in Santiago de Puriscal that has great Chinese food for less than $3.00. They also have a Filet of beef that weighs about ½ pound. It comes with a cabbage salad, tomatoes, and French fries. It is brought out on a covered metal platter and is sizzling in onions and covered with a mushroom sauce. I do not like fat or gristle and usually have to cut away a bunch of this from any steak in any restaurant. I have eaten every piece of this steak each of the 6 times I have ordered it. It is easy to order because like nearly every Chinese restaurant, the menu items are numbered. ORDER NUMBER 81.

All of my life I have put off having my hair cut. When I do, I always have it cut short so I can go longer before returning. There are two reasons for this; first, I like short hair because I do not like spending any time prepping it; second I HATE parting with the money. Half of these reasons have gone away. I found a Hair Salon in Santiago that is owned and operated by a beautiful, energetic, young lady who is so fun to be around, that I am going back every two weeks.

This is Tita Vargas Acosta & me.

She starts by offering your choice of something to drink; Coffee, soda, tea, wine, or beer. She then puts on some mood music to your taste and then covers you in a modern, weighted cape to keep the hair off. She trims and cuts and checks for about 20 minutes. Then she shampoos and then she MASSAGES YOUR HEAD for about 5 minutes. After all of that, she touches up one more time and then puts styling gel in. I love the PAMPERING, the best hair cut I have ever had, and her whole cheerful attitude.

I still like it cut short, but now for the best part: the cost for all this is 2,000 Colones. ($4.76)

WHAT A COUNTRY!!
