The Assassination
of a Dream
How long can a
business last without its leader? How can you
possibly win an unfair fight?
These were the
thoughts of Osvaldo Villalobos, still
incarcerated at the San Sebastian Maximum
Security Prison.
His tone of voice
revealed his deep concern, not only for himself
but for that of his brother Enrique as well.
The exchange house
Ofinter, SA has been cleared of any wrongdoing
by SUGEF almost a month ago, and still
Osvaldo is jailed.
He says that he
knows why. This is how the Costa Rican
Government is planning on entrapping his
brother. They keep an innocent man locked up, in
the hope that the strong family ties will cause
his older brother to turn himself in.
And only because the
man is wanted for questioning...
Meanwhile, about
8000 investors are waiting for a conclusion to
all this. This large number of fools, so
proclaimed by President Abel Pacheco, just
wants closure, so they don't have to wake
up with this on their collective minds, carry
this burden all day long and think of it while
they are trying to fall asleep.
But these masses are
becoming restless.
There are several
movements underway that more than likely will
result in lawsuits against the Costa Rican
Government. Some of the "legal"
anomalies that are apparently allowed in the
system here, are unusual and sometimes
punishable in other parts of the world.
The rights of
Canadian, American and many other citizens
have been trampled upon, with utter disregard,
and the time to pay for this foolishness is
drawing very near. People with millions at stake
will leave no stone unturned and in the end they
usually get what they want.
And all they want is
justice.
A meeting with
Villalobos' family members last Friday magnified
the human drama that is developing alongside the
public story. They have been cloistered and are
keeping out of the public eye. There are
bodyguards as a result of continued threats. All
this happened when the current Costa Rican
Administration decided to become suspiciously
involved.
Other concerns
are irate elements, one particular
"organization", referred to as
"The Vietnam Group", is actively
pursuing to end Enrique Villalobos life.
The family is angry,
emotionally drained and at wits' end. As a
result, Enrique has fallen victim to severe
depression and has taken ill.
The Costa Rican
government took a perfectly good
business, targeted it and harassed it
continuously, just because they didn't like the
profits that it was making. There was
and still is absolutely no indication of
any wrongdoing, but clearly that seems to be reason
enough to pursue it relentlessly. They managed
to succeed and forced it into shutting its
doors. Because of this, the business seized to
operate and what was left were empty handed
creditors.
So then, the
prosecutor managed to con some of these
creditors into filing against the business that was
just shut down, and now they finally have
some "legitimate" complaints that they
can base their trumped up charges on.
Oh Walter, certainly
I can not be the only one to see through this?
Within a very short time, the List-with-Names
will be made public. This list, subject of
many concerns and rumors, has finally fallen
into the right hands. As expected, the names
and information tying The Brothers to past
administrations and politically well-known and influential
people is undeniable. Fairly soon after that,
the appropriate agencies will have no choice
but to drop charges and eventually clear The
Brother's slate.
But will it be in time to salvage a once
healthy and profitable business?
That remains to be seen. No normal financial
enterprise can endure what this one has and
manage to survive. Even if Enrique and Osvaldo
would receive Carte Blanche, it is
anyone's guess if they could recover from
this devastating interruption.
Time will tell, but
how much time is there left?
And where the hell
is Oliver North when you really, really need
him?
