Almost Pay Back Time?
By Hank

Last week has brought new and rather interesting developments regarding the plight of the Villalobos Investors.

Some are now noticing that cracks are appearing in what once seemed an impenetrable wall of government control and red tape. I would go as far as to say that these cracks were there all the time, they were just hard to see and it has taken some serious sleuthing to find them.

And right now, they are more than just cracks, these are widening gaps that are tuning into holes, through which we can almost see the mechanism of the charade that we have been the innocent victims of for the last six months.

It is slowly becoming apparent, that the ones responsible for this havoc, are nothing more than a few jealous individuals, who’s envy of another booming business has caused the persecution of two innocent brothers.

No government conspiracy, no American or Canadian taxing authorities working covertly. In all fairness, the Costa Rican government may not have started this ludicrous circus, but they certainly have not done anything to dig for the real truth.

These individuals, who shall be named later, as not to interfere with a brand new investigation and preparations for their upcoming misfortune, have the connection in this government and know some "higher-ups", were able to push the buttons that turned investigative eyes towards The Brothers. Then, by pointing accusing fingers and mumbling vague suggestive accusations like "illegal practices" and "money laundering", they let the cat out of the bag and into the OIJ’s office...

Well, even this agency realized that they had not much to go on. They were instructed by these "higher-ups" to investigate, but in the absence of evidence and the presence of a 28 year flawless business span, they sat and waited.

Until a call was received from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

"Hello, eh!??"

Enter St. Onge, a dead bad guy who had exchanged some money at Casa de Cambio aka Ofinter. The only connection here, my good friends, is that it happened to be next door to Enrique Villalobos’ office.

What has not been made public as of today; is that Mr. St. Onge was NOT an investor with Enrique. We have the documentation to prove that.

Let me go a step further, there is absolutely NO evidence, NO documentation and NO proof, that either St. Onge or the recently arrested Mr. Moss had a 3% account with The Brothers. They were part of a financial chain of exchanges that included Ofinter, The Brothers and Banco Nacional.

Were these two gentlemen up to any good? Well, probably not, but does their dubious behavior have any bearing on the integrity of Banco Nacional, Ofinter or The Brothers?

Of course not!

But, for the powers that "be", the call from the Mounties was a godsend, because now they finally had the excuse to go and raid a squeaky clean and innocent enterprise.

The two "individuals who shall remain unnamed for now" rubbed their varicose veiny paws and smiled gleefully, it would now turn their way; competition was being eliminated, by a government no less. Soon all would be forgotten, soon all would go away and fall silent. Foolish Gringo investors are not known for their endurance and determination.

Even the media was having field days. Obliviously ignorant to worldly financial matters, these Magnificent Morons managed to only focus on the reported profit margins. Stupidly forgetting about credit cards, exchange rates, loans and factoring, they proclaimed themselves financial experts and announced that these were "unrealistic numbers" and assumed "foul play".

Both Spanish and English publications jumped on this Bandwagon of Bullshit, displaying daily the low level of their understanding. What should have been objective reporting, became The Bashing of the Innocents.

And so even the press was playing in the hands of the "Two". They did not know them, they did not know about them and they certainly were not looking for them. They had all that they needed, and boy was it selling copy!

Sadly for them, it looks like it is coming to an end. The Pacheco administration has done an incredibly stupid thing. Well, they still are doing incredibly stupid things, but this particular one will work to the advantage of all Investors. The dear Prez has not exactly gone out of his way to make friends. He has been a busy boy doing quite the opposite and for us, that means Pay Back Time.

Very soon, we will have an ally who shall show us the way out of this dark tunnel. With his help, we can not only find our way back to the Financial Light, but we will also know who was responsible for this and if we want to, we can do to them what they have done to us and The Brothers.

Let us hope that they are reading this, because if they are, they will not sleep well for a very long time.
