Costa Rica's National Stadium
The new National Stadium by
the numbers
35.000 for sports events and
50.000 for concerts is the
capacity - 8.5 is the magnitude
on the Richter scale the stadium
can withstand
500 high intensity lights
illuminate the playing field-
137 digital cameras will keep an
eye on the stadium - 300 is the
capacity of the stadium hotel -
250 spaces for wheel chairs and
1.500 sears for the disabled -
22 months of construction
- 83.000 cubic metres of
concrete - 500 onsite parking
spaces
The stadium was built by the
government of China and donated
to the people of Costa Rica. It
is being inaugurated on March 26
that will focus a friendly
soccer game between Costa Rica's
national team and that of China.
Other activities will include a
boxing match, a friendly with
Argentina, a dance night, an
international concert with
special invited guest Gilberto
Santarosa and conclude with the
Colombian artist and bombshell,
