This
cheerful restaurant in the heart of San
José has been a favorite of mine for so
many months, it's about time I shared it
with you. So far, everyone I have
mentioned it to ends up flocking there
for breakfast, lunch and dinner every
day of the week. It's not surprising
that News Café has become such a hit
since its inception last December in the
landmark Hotel Presidente.
Fronting the pedestrian boulevard on Avenida
Central, it provides the respite people
seek in the city - great, moderately
priced food in casual, soothing
surroundings. The interior and covered
sidewalk café has a 60-seat
capacity.
Hartley, a former Canadian, has done a
great job training his staff to provide
good table service and excellent food
quality. His 'hands on' approach is seen
everywhere, constantly attending to the
needs of his patrons.
A great place just to have a coffee,
lunch or dinner!
The cappucino is my favorite!
