Thank You!
Insidecostarica.com (ICR)began as weekly publication way back in November of 2002, that had a few readers, mostly my friends. With support of Michael, Bari and George, it began publishing every Sunday.

I had no great expectations, no illusions of becoming what it is today. And though it has gone far, it still has more to go.

From a few readers each week, ICR last month (September) broke all records. Our statistics program shows that there were an average 1.396 visitors daily. On September 22 we peaked at 1.784 visitors, for a total of 41.899 visits for the month.
September 2004
Statistics:

Daily Visits:
Average:     1.396
Maximum:  1.784

Hits:

Total:               1.220.908
Per hour avg:          1.695
Per day avg:         40.696

Pages Viewed:
Total:                  151.850
Daily avg:                5.061

The statistical program also reveals that during the month of September  810.237 files were transferred from our servers to our readers, for a total of 151.850 pages and 8.114.963 bytes of data.

The hits counter registered 1.220.908 hits for September.

The statistical reports are generated by Webalizer Version 2.01 installed on the server.

Several months back
I moved from the typical counting of Hits, to measure a website's success to counting Unique Visitors.

Unique visitors count is very important to website owners, in contrast to counting the number of hits. I still count the hits, more of a habit that anything else.

What has made ICR so successful? Well, I think it is because it delivers the daily news unbiased of my opinion and way of thinking, centering on events that shape Costa Rica and affect those foreigners living here or thinking of making Costa Rica their home one day.

There are still a few sections that need a lot of work, time to develop them. And I will. But, for now, I will continue to concentrate on the more important things.

One big boost to the success of ICR has been the addition of "Google Adsense" program in May of this year. Google made the decision, after a lengthy review, to include ICR in their Adsense program as a vehicle to deliver their AdWords.

The partnership has been mutually beneficial. Google reports that for September they delivered 83.066 page impressions, for a daily average of 2.768 page impressions.

What is Google Adsense? Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for website publishers to display relevant, unobtrusive Google ads  related to what readers are looking for.

Another measure of success is the number of letters that I receive daily from people offering their opinion to asking questions about Costa Rica to asking for help in locating a friend or family member, to just simply saying that they enjoy the daily publication and to keep up the good work. And not just from my friends.

But, most of all, it's the feeling the I get in providing a

All of this is all because of you. Thank you.
