Costa
Rica
wants
to
negotiate
a
free
trade
agreement.
Presidenta
Laura
Chinchilla
confirmed
on
Tuesday
that
the
free
trade
will
a
topic
of
discussion
with
her
Colombian
counterpart,
Juan
Manuel
Santos,
when
he
visits
next
week.
The
one

visit
is

The
presidenta
is
hopeful
that
a
trade
agreement
with
the
South
American
nation
will
be
quick,
even
finalized
by
the
end
of
the
year.
According
to
Chinchilla,
the
only
key
missing
piece
is
Costa
Rica
entry
into
the
Alianza
del
Pacífico
(Pacific
Alliance),
where
it
now
participates
only
as
an
observer.
The
Alianza
del
Pacífico
was
formed
in
2011
to
promote
growth,
development
and
competitiveness
among
the
member
countries
that
includes
Mexico,
Chile,
Colombia
and
Peru,
which
Costa
Rica
already
has
(save

legislative
approval
for
Peru)
trade
agreements
in
place.
