statistics

Costarricense

Red
Cross)
so
far
shows
the
Christmas
death
toll
to
be
12:
5
deaths
due
to
traffic
accidents
(2
people
were
run
over
by a
vehicle),
4 by
violence
and
3 in
water
accidents.
During
the
first
day
of
the
Zapote
(San
José)
fair
on
Christmas
day,
the
Cruz
Roja
said
it
attended
to
43
people,
7 of
which
had
to
be
transferred
to
hospital
and
28
were
from
injuries
sustained
in
the
bull
ring.
The
deputy
director
of
operations
for
the
Red
Cross,
Jim
Batres,
said
there
are
ways
to
celebrate
and
be
prudent
and
not
become
a
statistic.
