"Toros  A La Tica" Around The Corner

The thrills and scares of the traditional "Toro a la Tica" is only three days away, when at noon on Sunday the Zapote annual fair kicks off.

The Toros (bulls) will make their first appearance a 3pm on Christmas day and will continue until January 3, 2012 as part of the ten day traditional fair in San José, that is springboard for traditional fairs across the country in the coming months, like Palmares and Puntarenas.

If your live in Costa Rica and have never been or are visiting over the Christmas holiday, this is a must see event!

Although the entrance to the fair grounds is free to one and all, there is a cost to the see the bulls in the "redondel" (bull ring) and tickets go fast, especially for the evening events and sold out for the last couple of days.

The cost is ¢10.000 per person for the 3pm shows and ¢12.500 for the 9pm, for adults and children.

New this year is a mariachi contest during each event before the bulls come out.

Organizers promise the best bulls from the Ganadería Chinchilla.

If you cannot make to this event, local television stations will be broadcasting live some of the events, then there are news clips and of course Facebook and YouTube to get your bulls fix.
