Venezuela: US Interventionism Denounced
CARACAS - Venezuelan farmers and fishermen
belonging to the Simon Bolivar National
Front accused the United States government
of planning instability in South America
through application of its interventionist
policies.
In a press note released in this capital the
group recalled Washington's decision to
re-activate the 4th Fleet and increase its
warmongering presence in military bases in
Colombia, Aruba, Curacao and Panama.
The note also pointed out Washington's
complicity in the coup against Honduran
president, Manuel Zelaya, and its
provocations against Venezuela, Bolivia,
Ecuador and Paraguay.
It warned national and world public opinion
of the war strategy promoted in the region
by the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence
Agency.
According to the Simon Bolivar Front the
subordination demonstrated by some nations
is reprehensible.
It is a submissive posture assumed by
Colombian president, Alvaro Uribe and
Peruvian president Alan Garcia, it
specified.
For the Venezuelan farmers and fishermen,
Bogota and Lima play in the hands of US
intentions of dividing and destabilizing the
region.
This combination also represents an attack
on the basic elements of peaceful
coexistence as well as a return to an era of
intrigue, they charged.
In face of this threat the Front calls to
increase solidarity and unity of the social
and revolutionary movements. |
