Venezuela Reaffirms Report About US
Aggression
CARACAS - The vice President and Defence
Minister, Ramon Carrizalez, reaffirmed
Tuesday the report of the Venezuelan
government about a possible US military
aggression across the Dutch islands of Aruba
and Curaçao, located in the Caribbean sea.
"We have objective elements to prove that it
is true, valid and the report of our
President Hugo Chávez is based on true
facts", said Carrizalez in an act at La
Guaira port, the most important of the
country.
The operation against some US military bases
in the mentioned territories since many
years constitutes, according to him, a real
threat to the Venezuelan sovereignty. He
also remarked that last May 17, 2009 a US
war plane violated the national airspace and
flew over the air and sea base of Orchilla.
We have the registers of the Control Centre,
a conversation with a plane of the Maiquetía
airport, where the centre asked for the
motives of its incursion, and the pilot said
it was part of training and they are going
back to Curaçao. He also assured that this
conversation is a demonstration if someone
has doubts about it.
Chávez said last December 30 that USA uses
the air bases from Aruba and Curaçao as part
of an alleged aggression plan against
Venezuela, in which Colombia also takes
part.
The governor also rejected the pronouncement
of the Prime Minister from Aruba, Mike Eman,
who assured last week that the Dutch
government told Caracas about the intention
of their military antidrugs agreement with
Washington, and he considered that they
reduced the diplomatic bilateral tension
caused by the Venezuelan report.
"To us nothing is passed, we are seeing the
planes going to Curaçao and Aruba, the "wak"
systems, and the intelligence equipment they
have", remarked the Venezuelan leader. |
