Ticos To Visit Palmares Festival Beginning
January 13
In exactly one week the traditional Palmares
Festival will kick off in what is known as
the largest annual fair, next to Zapote and
perhpas the best of all fairs.
The Palmares Festival runs from January 13
to 25 and although it may not happen due to
concerns by the Ministerio de salud on the
coming of the second wave of the AH1N1 flu
virus, the Asociación Cívica Palmareña
assures that all is set.
The main centrepiece of the Palmares
Festival is the Carnaval that will be on
Friday 22 January beginning at 5:30pm.
Last year, the start of the Palmares
Festival was delayed due to the Cinchona
earthquake of January 8. Festival organizers
decide in favour of a postponement to mourn
the fatalities suffered during the
devastating earthquake.
