Luis
Castro Wins the First Contest of the
Caribbean Surf Association
With crystal two foot waves concluded the
first date of the Caribean Surf Circuit. It
was a final unimaginable after the favorites
were taken out earlier leaving the way open
for Luis Castro, a Caribeño who lives in
Tamarindo, to win ¢250.000 colones and 1500
points.
Castro was followed by the Caribeño Kemba
Rouse and the ex-champion Esteban Piedra.
In the Women's Category, the Puerto Viejo
local Elisa Bonomelli was crowned champ with
a Playa Bonita local Elizabeth Vaughn coming
in second.
In Junior's, Jordan Hernandez won followed
by Luigi Agüero and Andrew Bonomelli.
It was incredible how much the local break
in Playa Bonita called "La Playita" offered.
The crystal waves and sunshine made for a
great event, the first to be held in the
area.
