Nicaragua Campaign Against Dengue

Managua - The Health Ministry (MINSA) of Nicaragua has begun a campaign to prevent 4 types of the dengue virus, according to reports from this Ministry.

The disease affected 458 people only in the capital, 14 people had hemorrhagic dengue, while one person died, according to MINSA information.

Up to the present an increase in 42 percent in dengue infected people has been reported compared with the same period last year. However has been a lower impact in the number of hemorrhagic dengue patients and dead people, declares the authorities.

More than 700 people support preventive actions in the capital, where the dengue virus has a bigger impact.
