Venezuela, Belarus to Bolster Ties
Minsk - Venezuela
intends to reinforce relations with Belarus
even more, said President Hugo Chavez, who
concludes a two-day visit to that country on
Wednesday.
After meeting with Belarus President
Alexander Lukashenko, Chavez rated what he
called the first stage of bilateral links as
successful, after bilateral trade in the
first semester of this year surpassed 132
million dollars.
The Venezuelan leader said that despite the
world economic crisis, Belarus' unemployment
rate registered no increase and jobs were
kept.
Chavez expressed satisfaction for new
prospects in bilateral relations, and added
there are no limits for mutual integration.
Meanwhile, the Belarus president highlighted
the speedy development of bilateral bonds,
and promised his country will accomplish the
agreements reached in the last years.
Lukashenko, who offered Chavez a dinner in
his honor, thanked for the Venezuelan aid to
his nation, including the financial one.
Upon concluding his fifth visit to Belarus,
Chavez will head for Russia, where he plans
to meet with his peer, Dmitri Medvedev, and
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, and sign
deals in energy, ecology, among others. |
