Bolivia's Evo Stresses Support of Thinkers
La Paz - Bolivian President Evo Morales
highlighted the support for his presidential
candidature and process of change given by
groups of professionals, academicians, and
middleclass representatives in Santa Cruz
department, where authorities are bitter
adversaries of his government.
Local press quoted the president as saying
in Santa Cruz this step will not be in vein.
"Bolivia will be another country if we
unite. Santa Cruz is the hope of the people,
the same way natural resources are so for
the west," he stated.
Indigenous people lasted 200 years to
overcome fear and end with foreign
colonialism, but they did it. Now with the
support of professionals and thinkers it is
possible to consolidate the process of
change, Evo added.
Morales reminded of the historic
responsibility for the process to continue,
and let the people choose the country's
future. |
