Elections in Honduras: Inviable, says Insulza

Buenos Aires - The Secretary General of the Organization of American States Jose Miguel Insulza considered as inviable the call for elections in Honduras, where a de-facto regime took power on June 28.

The idea of elections is unworkable since this is not an appropriate time to do so, Insulsa said during a press conference in Buenos Aires, participating at the Conference of the Supreme Courts of the Americas.

Insulza said the best Honduras should do is accept San Jose Agreement, which he described as balanced.

OAS Secretary General reiterated the coup in Honduras was without doubt an involution and regression.

Insulza also said he hopes coup leaders accept San Jose Agreement and clarified beside OAS Suspension, there is no other sanction to apply to them.
