Venezuela, Brazil Sign Cooperation
Agreements
CARACAS - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez
and his visiting Brazilian counterpart Luiz
Inacio Lula da Silva signed 15 cooperation
agreements Friday during a trimestral
meeting in Venezuela's Anzoategui state.
Some of the agreements were related to joint
feasibility studies for hydrocarbons
development in Mara Oeste and La Sibucarain
Venezuela's Zulia state, according to the
Bolivarian News Agency (ABN).
The two leaders agreed to wrap up
negotiations on relevant affairs between
Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and Brazil's
Petrobras.
Meanwhile, PDVSA signed an agreement with
Norberto Odebrecht Constructor to create the
company Convenpro, which will be in charge
of developing the Deep Conversion project in
Puerto La CruzRefinery.
Also, state-owned Venezuelan Pequiven and
Brazilian Braskem signed a memorandum of
understanding to implement petrol-chemical
facilities in Camazari, in the Brazilian
state of Bahia.
Regarding technology, Chavez and Lula signed
two agreements to ease the recovery of two
hotel complexes in the Venezuelan state of
Vargas, north of Caracas.
The two presidents also signed agreements on
food, sports and health cooperation.
