Political Campaign Turns Heated Days After
Commencing
Although it has only been days since the 2010
presidential political campaign officially
began, it has already begun to heat with the
first round fired by the Partido Acción
Ciudadana (PAC), Ottón Solís, challenging
Laura Chinchilla, candidate for the Partido
Liberación Nacional (PLN), to a "cara-a-cara".
Solís dared Chinchilla to meet face-to-face
in a debate during the launch of his
campaign that aired on radio and television,
explaining the promises of a PAC government.
The PAC leader said on Monday, "we are going to ask doña
Laura that she clarify what she is saying
about the social malcontents".
Following the Monday PAC announcement, the
mud-slinging began with Laura being accused
of "hiding" from the questions of the PAc
and the people.
The Laura camp denies that their candidates
is hiding, that they have no problem to open
debates before election day in February. |
