Panama Wants Cuban 5 Free
Panama - The demands of justice in the case
of five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters,
unfairly imprisonment in the United States
for 11 years, are Saturday part of the
agenda of Panamanian organizations
supporting that cause.
"There is a sun that never goes out," Olmedo
Santamaria, president of the Pro-Five
Committee in the province of Chiriqui, told
Prensa Latina.
Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labaņino, Fernando
Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez
were sentenced and convicted in a rigged
trial in Miami, under the pressure of groups
opposed to the island's government,
Santamaria stated.
The issue is one of the main points of the
National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba in
Panama, to be run from October 16-17 in this
capital.
