OAS Mission Arrived in Honduras
TEGUCIGALPA -
An
OAS mission headed by his Secretary General,
José Miguel Inzulsa, arrived Wednesday in
Honduras to try finding a solution to the
crisis created after the coup last June 28.
The delegation is formed by the Foreign
Ministers Fander Falconí, Ecuador; Hugo
Martínez, El Salvador; Haroldo Rodas,
Guatemala; Patricia Espinosa, Mexico; and
Bruno Stango, Costa Rica.
The US undersecretary of the Bureau of
Western Hemisphere Affairs, Thomas Shannon
also accompanies the delegation, together
with the Secretaries of State Peter Kent
from Canada and Ronald Robinson from
Jamaica; and also the permanent
representatives from Argentina before the
OAS and several deputy FMs.
This is the second OAS mission that is in
Honduras after its first trip last August
24, that finished in a failure owing to the
putschits refusal to leave power and allow
the return to institutionality.
