Gasoline Price Drop Approved
The price of gasoline products at the pumps
will be dropping in the coming weeks with
the latest and fifth reduction approval this
year by the Autoridad Reguladora de
Servicios Públicos (Aresep).
The price of gasoline will drop ¢26 colones
per litre of super, ¢24 for regular and ¢22
for diesel, as soon as it is published in
the official government publication, La
Gaceta, which is expected next week.
With the approval, the cost of a litre of
super will drop from today's ¢601 to ¢575,
regular from ¢582 to ¢558 and diesel from ¢
506 to ¢484.
Aviation gas and kerosene products will also
be dropping, although compressed natural gas
will be going up ¢13 colones a litre.
Natural gas is used in most homes for
cooking, as well as a number of vehicles
converted from gasoline to LP. The Cost of
LP will go from the current ¢262 to ¢275 a
litre.
It is important to remember that only weeks
ago the price of gasoline shot up and this
drop will mean gasoline prices will still be
higher that before last month's increase.
