Venezuela-Palestine Links Strengthened
CARACAS - Venezuela and Palestine strengthened their
links with the signing of three bilateral
agreements during the official visit of
Palestine National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to the South American country
this week.
The first agreement signed on Friday evening
was aimed at promoting and strengthening
cooperation in joint economic, scientific,
cultural, agricultural, and education
programs.
A memorandum of understanding in university
education to train Palestinian professionals
in postgraduate courses at different
Venezuelan higher education centers was also
signed.
This agreement will be put into practice on
April 2010, with an exchange and training
program in this nation of 20 Palestinian
scholars in Community Integral Medicine.
The third accord was to establish mechanisms
to boost trade cooperation, supportive
exchange of products, and joint plans to
satisfy the needs of the peoples and promote
the economic development.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced
on Friday that his country will open an
embassy in Palestine in support to the
struggle of that Middle East nation for
becoming an independent state.
Chavez ratified the solidarity and
commitment of his country with the struggle
of the
Palestinian people, when receiving Abbas at
Miraflores government palace. |
