Porteadores To Block Traffic Monday Morning
The porteadores (informal taxi service) have
announced that they will be blocking all
major roads and access to San José on
Monday. The action is being taken at a peak
hours, starting a 6am, when most are heading
in to work.
The last time the porteadores took such an
action they paralyzed traffic in San José,
creating havoc and the dismay of most Costa
Ricans.
The group is demonstrating the government's
failure to negotiate a solution to the
informal taxi problem that has been ongoing
for years.
