Venezuela Readies Colombia Border
Communities
CARACAS - Venezuelan community councils in the zone
bordering Colombia are being prepared to
support actions for the defense of national
sovereignty, along with official entities,
parliamentary sources informed on Thursday.
In a report to communities in Tachira state,
Deputy Julio Garcia Jarpa indicated the
communities are being trained to be
organized and gather information.
Garcia Jarpa pointed out that with such
information, they could identify newcomers
in the region, suspects, meeting places, and
those who charge illegal taxes and leak
information to the Colombian intelligence
service.
The deputy to the National Assembly
indicated the idea is to face the siege
being plotted against Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez' administration.
The plan, he explained, includes the
infiltration of Colombian paramilitaries in
Venezuelan territory, and threats of a US
military aggression with the setting up of
new military stations in Colombia.
Radio Nacional de Venezuela quoted Garcia
Jarpa as saying it is a fourth generation
war against the country.
The deputy imbedded the situation in the
world geopolitics, as corroborated by events
in Central America, the Caribbean and South
America, with the US running out of oil
while there is plenty of it in Venezuela. |
