than 7.000 Costa Ricans With AIDS
The Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS)
estimates that between 7.000 and 9.000 Costa
Ricans are infected with AIDS. However, less
than 3.000 are getting treatment, according
to Ricardo Boza of the Hospital San Juan de
Dios.
Although the numbers are not good, Boza
explains that ten years ago treatment for
AIDS was almost none.
The doctor added that every month at least
10 new cases are diagnosed at the Unidad de
Sida del Hospital San Juan de Dios.
