Nicaragua: Extensive Supporting March
Repercussion
MANAGUA - Nicaragua's media highlights
Sunday that an estimate of 350,000 people
participated in the pro-government march on
Saturday in favor of President Daniel
Ortega.
After a week of preparation, uncertainty and
apocalyptic predictions of violent actions
by the liberal opposition, Sandinistas and
Liberals took to the street to prove their
forces.
A crowd of more than 350,000 Nicaraguans
celebrated with overflowing joy the
Sandinistas' victory in the November 2008
local elections as well as the nation's
victories, stressed La Primerísima Radio
The radio report contrasts the huge
Sandinista National Liberation Front's
crowd, "while right groups were protesting
against the government with just 7,000
participants according to National Police's
estimates," it added.
Such multitude has never been seen before in
Managua but in electoral campaigns.
Demonstrators ratified their hope on
maintaining peace and on an economic
improvement despite the financial crisis of
the capitalist system, the station
continued.
Meanwhile, the capital is back to normal
again giving way to the hustle and bustle of
the city and the shopkeepers' hope for a
good Christmas sales. |
