Venezuela Marches Against US Military Bases
in Colombia
CARACAS - Thousand Venezuelans will join a
march against the US military bases in
Colombia in respond to the call of Venezuela
United Socialist Party (PSUV).
US Troops with License to Kill, Decries
Chavez The PUSV National coordinator Jorge
Rodriguez declared journalists that the
summons to join the march included good
women and men in the country.
Rodriguez expressed it is a demonstration in
defense of Venezuela, the motherland,
sovereignty and mainly peace.
In declarations to Prensa Latina the PUSV
coordinator of mobilizations and events in
Caracas Carlos Sierra predicted that they
expect participation of about 10,000
Venezuelans in Caracas and about 100,000 all
over the country.
He emphasized that the intention is to call
the Colombian people to oppose US
interference in the neighbour nation.
We all back President Hugo Chavez call last
Sunday for the defense of our country
because we as Venezuelans and youngsters
will not allow any foreign government to
invade our sovereignty, he assured.
In addition Rosaida Hernandez from the PSUV
political Bureau in this capital said that
the presence of US naval bases in Colombia
is threatening peace in Latin America
During his Alo Presidente Sunday's TV
program Chavez emphasized that despites of
the threat of the empire and its lackeys in
the continent, like the Colombian
government, Venezuela will go on with its
Socialist revolution.
The event between Colombia and United States
is no more but a country's delivering, that
is Colombia has turned that neighbour nation
into a Yankee colony, he reiterated.
Bogota and Washington signed an agreement in
October 30 allowing United States install
seven military bases in Colombia.
The document allows presence of at least 800
US soldiers and 600 contracted civilians
from the northern administration in the
neighbour country with immunity and free
from obeying Colombian regulations. |
