Honduran De Facto Government Representative
Urges Congress To Solve Zelaya's Restitution
TEGUCIGALPA - Negotiator of the
Honduran de facto government Vilma Morales
urged on Monday the Honduran Congress to
give a sentence on the restitution of ousted
President Manuel Zelaya, to fulfill one of
the five points of the Tegucigalpa-San Jose
Agreement.
At a press conference held at the government
house, Morales said the Congress must set a
quick end to the political crisis in the
country, despite "we recognize there is not
a date to fulfill this point."
"With all respect, but with energy we demand
the National Congress to take the decision.
Both partied agreed the Congress to decide
and today we request it to give its decision
on the fifth point of the agreement,"
Morales said.
Morales added that the agreement cannot be
renegotiated and that both parties must
accept it at the time when they called for
continued dialogue to fulfill the agreement.
Morales also said that they sent a letter to
the Organization of American State to remind
them about their commitment to respect the
agreement and the decision taken by the
Honduran people.
The fifth point of the agreement gives the
Congress the responsibility of "bringing
back the ownership of the executive power to
its state before June 28 (coup) till the
conclusion of the current governmental
period of Jan. 27, 2010."
