Nicaragua: Zelaya''s Reinstatement, a Must
MANAGUA - Honduras
Foreign Minister Patricia Rodas reiterated
Wednesday in Managua, Nicaragua that the
reinstatement of Honduras Constitutional
President Jose Manuel Zelaya is vital to
start the Tegucigalpa-San Jose Agreement.
The Foreign Minister of Honduras
Constitutional government talked in a press
conference about the statements given on
Tuesday by US Under Secretary of State
Thomas Shannon, in which he talked about the
accord.
She said it is a bad interpretation of
Shannon and stressed there will be no pact
if Zelaya is not reinstated.
According to the negotiated plan, the
Constitutional President of Honduras must be
reinstated by Honduras Congress on Thursday,
who was kidnapped by forced during a coup
perpetrated in June 28.
Rodas referred to a missive sent by Zelaya
to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in
which he requests Washington to clarify if
their position regarding the coup has been
modified or if they are just seeking to hold
elections without halting the coup or
putting an end to the Honduras political
standoff.
We demand US President Barack Obama and his
administration to clarify before the
international community and before Honduran
people their official position, if their
anti-coup remains firm or if they have
changed it due to any pressure from in or
out the country, Rodas stated.
