Cuba Stance against US Blockade
PANAMA - The Cuban government, which emerged
from the heroic deed at the Sierra Maestra
mountains, has reached on Friday 50 years
defending its sovereignty and right to self
determination," journalist Grant Geneteau
asserted in this capital.
In an editorial published in El Siglo daily,
the journalist recalled that the Cuban state
"has been the target of an economic blockade
that violates the International Law that
rules relations between countries."
Faced with historical changes in the world
in the interest of peace and peaceful
coexistence between nations, Geneteau said
Washington should understand that it is time
to put an end to the economic blockade on
that Caribbean island "in favor of true
universal democracy."
This demand does not only come from
continental Latin America but also from the
whole world, he added, and it is time to end
a measure that damages relations of de
United States with its allies, as a result
"of that stubborn terrorist attitude of a US
unilateral blockade."
