Gasoline Price
Drop Reason For Gasoline Stations Running
Out Of Fuel
The drop in the price of gasoline last week
caused a number of Shell gasoline stations
to run dry, according to a report by the
Spanish language daily, Al Día.
The daily reports that the Shell stations at
Centro Comercial del Sur, San Francisco de
Dos Ríos and Montelimar (Guadalupe) had no
gasoline to sell.
Shell's general manager said that the demand
for the lower cost fuel was greater than the
supply.
Fabricio Pereira explained that many drivers
hold off filling their tanks before an
announced price reduction, thus filling up
on the weekend, leaving a number of stations
without fuel to dispense.
Gasoline prices dropped at the end of last
week to ¢452 colones for a litre of super,
to ¢435 for regular Plus91 and ¢354 for
diesel.
