75% Of Those With AH1N1 Are 29 Years Old And Under

According to a report by the Ministerio de Salud on the confirmed cases of AH1N1 flu, 75% of the 8 confirmed, 3 probables and 109 under investigation by the Instituto Costarricense de Investigación y Enseñanza en Nutrición y Salud (Inciensa)cases, were of those 29 years of age and under.

The figures also show that the majority of those infected are women.

More than 1.100 cases have been reported to health officials since the outbreak on April 24, the majority being discarded as being the regular flu.

Health officials are asking that people don't let their guard down, continue to apply preventive measures like frequently washing their hands and proper protocol for sneezing and coughing, which also prevent the spreading of the common flu virus and other bacteria.

Health officials also made a call to remind the population to eliminate breeding grounds of the Dengue fever carrying mosquito.
