Government Takes Control Of
Goods, Service Of Oil Industry
Caracas - The Venezuelan
government began the transfer process on
Friday to control goods and services of the
oil industry with a special vent in
Maracaibo Lake, west of the country, the
biggest and richest on oil beds from Latin
America.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, together
with members of his executive cabinet,
chaired the event held in Maracaibo, located
in Lagunillas municipality of Zulia state.
The event was broadcast on radio and
television, with the presence of workers
aboard the ships, who waved Venezuelan flags
and sang the national anthem.
Chavez said "the workers could be the
vanguard on the construction of Socialism
and this is a historical event."
This event was a result of the approval of
the Organic Law, which reserves for the
State the goods and services related to the
exploitation of main hydrocarbons. The law
was approved on Thursday by the National
Assembly (AN) and signed on Thursday night
by Chavez.
