Chavez: Fidel Castro Very
Well
Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said he saw Cuban
leader Fidel Castro in a very good condition during his recent visit
to the Island.
Chavez said he talked with Fidel Castro for over three hours on
Friday, February 20 and for more than four hours the next day.
In remarks released by the Presidential Press service, Chavez
explained that his trip had been scheduled for December, but was
postponed because of the campaign for the Constitutional amendment
voted in referendum on February 15.
He said he could see an improvement in the Cuban leader's health,
"as never before."
In his remarks early this morning during a telephone call to TV
program La Hojilla, Chavez said they discussed international issues,
including Latin America and the new government in the United States.
They also talked about the strengthening of relations between Cuba
and Venezuela and world financial issues. |
