Guatemala - Two Guatemalan organizations came out in support of the Honduran people and President Manuel Zelaya, faced with threats of a coup d''Etat, on Saturday.

The National Front in the Struggle (FNL) and the New Alternative Nation (ANN) denounce maneuvers of the right wing sectors, and support constitutional authorities.

The FNL recognizes Zelaya as "a leader committed to the rights and interests of his people."

This party calls to prevent Honduras from returning to the years of coups d'Etats, military takeovers, repressions, terror, and the imposition of anti-popular neoliberal policies.

The ANN states that no one in Latin America ignores President Zelaya's political rejection of US imperialism and interventionist policies.

The president's positions are supported by a strong popular movement in Honduras.
