Honduras
Tegucigalpa - An
earthquake of 5.7 magnitude at Richter Scale
shook on Sunday midnight the Honduran
Caribbean, without victims and material
damages reported.
According to the United States Geological
Survey (USGS), the epicenters was 30
kilometers northwest from La Ceiba
(Caribbean) 125 kilometers to San Pedro Sula,
the second most important city of Honduras.
Permanent Commission of Contingences (Copeco)
said Monday morning that there have not been
reports of victims and material damages.
However, the authorities have reported
replicas of 4.7 and 5.5 magnitude, also in
the north zone of the country.
Since May 28, when Honduras was shook by an
earthquake of 7.1 magnitude, there have been
more than 320 replicas, according to Copeco
chief Marco Burgos.
In that time the earthquake killed seven
people and left loses of 100 million U.S.
dollars.
