Nicaragua Highlights Trade with Venezuela
Managua - Nicaraguan authorities ratified
the importance of trade with Venezuela that
surpassed 6.3 million dollars in 2007 by 45
million so far in 2009.
Jorge Molina, executive director of the
Center of Export Procedures (CETREX) pointed
out the value of trade between the two
member nations of the Bolivarian Alliance
for the Peoples of our America (ALBA).
For example, he pointed out, 30 percent of
national beef sold to Venezuela, a line that
occupies first place in exchange with 75
percent of the total amount of products.
In declarations reported by the digital
daily, El 19, Molina reviewed the impact of
the fall of exports that has been less in
the country through the appearance of
Venezuela as an alternative market with fair
prices.
He pointed out that the main export products
are coffee and beef although he explained
the possibility of reaching 200 million
dollars in coffee (that is now 164 million)
but if beef increases at an amazing speed by
the end of the year it could occupy first
place.
