Jara's death Inquiry in Progress
Santiago de Chile - The judge in charged of
investigating the death of singer-songwriter Victor
Jara is studying the first anthropological report
indicating that the artist was shot one or twice on
his head and dozens in his body.
The Forensic service (SML) that analyzes Jara's
body, exhumed last June 4, hand over the report of
his bones remains that would back the thesis that he
was killed by a Russian roulette applied by a
lieutenant after he was shot with over 40 bullets.
The forensic services results will be spread soon.
The lieutenant nicknamed madman, was identified by
ex conscript Jose Paredes who confessed his
participation in Jara's crime in the then Chilean
stadium (Victor Jara stadium at this time). Paredes
is released on bail after serving several weeks in
prison.
The result of the first autopsy was that he was shot
twice on the right temple, 16 entry wounds plus 12
entry and four exit wounds on the top right place,
two transfixiant wounds and 18 entrance and 14 exit
wounds in the legs.
The experts are interested to determine if the
causes of the death were shot on his head or if he
was shot with a coup de grace after dead. |
