President Colom for Cabinet Change

Guatemala - Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom ordered to set up a Security Ministry that will assume current functions of the Interior Ministry.

Prensa Libre daily says the decision embodies cabinet promoted changes in terms of security and crops hopes to finally downsize home crime.

President Colom called the renewal necessary to boost law enforcement, since National Civilian Police cleansing involves adding 4,800 new grads.
