Panama Flood Warning System
Panama - Panama National Civil Protection
System (SINAPROC) will promote the
installation of flood prevention systems
nation wide to try and limit their annual
damages.
SINAPROC calculates the damages from 2004 to
2008, including human and material losses,
in the several million dollar range.
The system includes measuring river stream
flow strength, installing satellite markers
that will supply weather forecasts to
operation centers, namely on rainfall and
river flow.
Data supply would be 15-minutes apart in
case of bad weather to allow SINAPROC issue
timely provisions. |
