Costa Rica Post Office Goes Online

The Correos de Costa Rica is now offering an online store for stamp collectors.

Currently Correos offers only 15 products from 2008 and 2009, featuring stamps with themes such as child literature, Hogares Crea, dolphins, whales and churches of Costa Rica.

Online sales of stamp for collectors is noting new, as many post offices around the world have joined the online community to offer their products,

Juan Carlos Saborío, commerical manager for Correos de Costa Rica, said that expects a positive response from stamp collectors.

Purchases on the website can be made by using a Visa or Mastercard and deliveries are made by the Correos' EMS courier delivery service.

EMS courier deliveries are certified, guaranteeing delivery said Saborío. The EMS courier service is also used by the Costa Rican post office to deliver certified judicial notices, packages and special delivery items.

Saborío said the website will be update every time there is a new postage stamp issue.

In addition to selling stamps, the Correos website also provides information on "codigo postales" (postal codes), explaining the recently introduced system of postal codes and a listing of all postal codes, following up on lost mail and employment opportunities.

Now, if only Correos would focus on getting the mailed delivered to households.

The Correos website site can be reached at: http://www.correos.go.cr
