School Break Around the Corner
Millions of Costa Ricans are getting ready
fro the "vacaciones de medio año' (mid-year
vacations) and hotels and resorts are
getting ready to cash in during these tough
economic times.
The total number of people that will be
enjoying the annual mid year scholl break is
1.054.511, made up of students and teachers,
that are expected to head for the beaches
and mountains.
This week ads for deals at hotels and
resorts have been in all the local print
newspapers, deals for rooms for only $30 a
night in places like Manule Antonio (Quepos)
or $65 for a La Fortuna de San Carlos hotel,
which also includes three meals with the
room.
For those who decide to stay in the city,
the Parque de Diversiones will be
inaugurating the " El Templo de la Verdad:
la Profanación" (The Temple of Truth: the
Desecration) and will offer a live theatre
presentation and folklore dances, all for
¢6.100 per person.
And for "Canopy" lovers, they won't have to
go too far, the canopy experience can be
enjoyed in La Sabana for only ¢4.000.
Schools in Costa Rica will be on vacation
between July 4 and July 19.
