Panama: Organizations for Truth about US Invasion

PANAMA - The calls of social organizations to take up again the truth about the US invasion to Panama gain strength in the national scene on Friday, before the 20-year anniversary of that terrible event.

The National Front for Social and Economic Rights (FRENADESO) called a rally for December 20 before former Washington embassy in this capital, as part of the actions.

The goal of it is to keep alive the memory of the aggression that caused a high number of dead people and material losses to the country.

FRENADESO added that no one has assumed the responsibility for the events that also represented a violation to international and human rights up to now.

The Popular Alternative Party affirmed that after two decades of the genocide, "the supposed liberation mask, with which the media at the service of imperialism covered the savage and bloody military aggression, has fallen.

According to FRENADESO, the attention has been focused on the decision of the government of installing 11 stations in different places of the country.

Doubts arise about the possible military presence of other countries in the mentioned bases that is an initiative launched under the argument of fighting drug-trafficking, which is senseless regarding the constitutional profile of the country.

When the project was known, authorities ratified that the stations will be operated by soldiers of the Air and Sea and Border services as well as the National Police.
