Colombian President Receives Cuban
Ambassador
BOGOTA - Colombian President Alvaro Uribe
received on Tuesday night Cuban Ambassador
Jose Perez Novoa, with whom he met
cordially.
Uribe, before departing for the Copenhagen
summit on climate change, expressed his
country's respect and consideration towards
the Cuban government and people and extolled
Perez Novoa's work to consolidate bilateral
links during his diplomatic term.
Previously, Novoa, who will soon end his
mission in Colombia, was received by
Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez,
who extolled his performance.
In a separate meeting, Colombian Culture
Minister Paula Marcela Moreno hailed the
work of the Cuban ambassador, oriented to
strengthen relations between both peoples.
The work carried out by the Cuban diplomat
has also been recognized these days by
several former Colombian presidents, high
ranking officials and leaders of different
political forces, as well as notables,
organizations of solidarity with Cuba,
business people and Cuban residents in
Colombia. |
