San
José - Cancun Four Times A Week
Mexicana, Mexico's national airline,
inaugurate on Wednesday its new route
between San José and Cancun. Using an Airbus
A318 with a capacity of 124, the airline
will be flying the route four times a week,
on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The airline expects to carry up to 2.000
passengers a month at prices starting at
us$260.
The route can also be uses as a connection
to Washington DC, Chicago, Miami, New York,
Havana, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
With the addition of Cancun, Mexicana now
flies to and from Costa Rica 15 times a
week, 11 of those flights to and from Mexico
City or Distrito Federal as it is known in
Mexico.
Allan Flores, Costa Rica's ministro de
Turismo (Tourism minister) said the route is
very important for Costa Rica and positive
for the 2010 tourism season.
