Panama Works on 2010 Education Reform
PANAMA - Panama Education Ministry will test
in 2010 a training program for
pre-universities with a curriculum covering
humanities, science and technology.
The project is aimed at reducing the number
of senior high-school freshmen from 86 to 16
per classroom, for statistics have shown
that 49 percent fail to enrol in university
studies.
The pilot program is aimed at upgrading the
students' learning capacities.
Currently Panama has some 81,000
pre-university students and 6,000 teachers.
