Big
Lottery Winners Spread Out In Five Provinces
At 7:14pm in downtown San José the "gordo
navideño" numbers dropped from the tumbling
wheel, with the number "90" with series
"892" as the grand prize winner.
The Junta de Protección Social (JPS), says
pieces of the winning number of the annual
Christmas lottery and the biggest of the
year, was sold in San José, Coronado, Escazú,
Hatillo, San Pedro, Alajuletia and
Desamparados. Pieces were also sold in
Alajuela, Cartago, Limón and Puntarenas.
The JPS said there is no one single winner,
as the winning number was sold in pieces in
five of the provinces, with one person
holding a maximum of 8 fracciones.
Each fraccion pays out ¢18.825.000 colones
and cost ¢1.000.
