Vote Expected In Costa Rica's Presidential
Elections
The February 7, 2010, presidential elections
is expected to generate a high abstention
according to a UNIMER poll released on
Tuesday.
The survey reveals that the voter percentage
that will abstain from voting has doubled in
the last months, rising from 9% in September
to 17% in November.
The study confirms that none of the
political parties has done advertising
efforts to achieve more votes and more than
half of the population is still undecided
about which candidate to vote for.
In Costa Rica 2.8 million people can vote
for the president, two vice-presidents and
57 legislative Assembly members.
The survey was conducted on 2,438 Costa
Rican between 18 and 69 years old, with a
2-point margin of error and 95 percent of
reliability. |
