Fiddle Champ Tunes Up For Costa Rica
Canadian fiddle champion Scott Woods will be
playing a benefit concert this Sunday, Dec.
6 in St. Catharines but his music will carry
all the way to Costa Rica.
Len Lane and his team at Global Outreach
Mission are heading back to Costa Rica in
January to continue the work that has helped
thousands of people in need. And it’s there,
where funds raised Sunday by the
somersaulting, fiddle-playing Canadian
Entertainer of the Year will help volunteer
team members bring medical assistance, new
construction, and a message of God’s love.
Lane, Global Outreach Mission’s vice
president of candidates and personnel, has
been sending teams and individuals to places
of need for the past 22 years.
Last January in Orosi Valley they cared for
1,000 people in their three-day medical
clinics, distributing medications and
physician care.
The team coordinated Vacation Bible School
for 300 children and provided training for
teachers. “We go to be a blessing and we
come back blessed. We come back having the
satisfaction of making a difference in
people’s lives.”
Upbeat and uplifting describe the fast-paced
two-hour concert with Scott Woods and his
band presenting seasonal songs,
inspirational stories and lots of family
fun.
The concert is Sunday, Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m. at
Bethany Community Church, 1388 Third St.
Louth, St. Catharines. The show is a sell
out wherever it plays, with Woods turning
somersaults and step dancing while he plays
the fiddle. Tickets can be purchased at
Global Outreach Mission, 261 Martindale,
Rd., Unit 7, St. Catharines or online at
www.missiongo.org/concert.html.
